Ceremony Is...
Indigenous shamans counted ceremonies and blessings as some of their most important tasks. Ceremonies are conducted to recognize special occasions—births, baby naming, weddings, coming-of-age ceremonies, and healings. They help mark the sacredness of special days and events or usher in change.
Blessings are special ceremonies intended to usher in positive energy. Often, spaces, buildings, and homes are blessed. But anything with a spirit (and that's everything in shamanism) can be blessed.
